This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the sixth generation "B16" (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012) Nissan Sentra sedan in changing a burnt out dome light bulb.

Owners of other Nissan vehicles with similar dome light housings such as the Versa, Cube, Altima, Maxima, Leaf, Pathfinder, 370Z, Juke, Rogue, Xterra, Murano and Quest may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement "festoon" type bulb is part number DE3175 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA.

You may also use a compatible DE3175 LED unit from Cutequeen, Oracle Lighting or Zone Tech.

The only tool needed to change the bulb is a small flat head screwdriver used to pry out the plastic lens cover.

To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in to the notch on the front edge of the lens cover.

Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place.

Test New Dome Light Bulb
Insert a new # DE3175 festoon bulb in to the socket.

I'd recommend the Sylvania DE3175 Long Life light bulbs.

If you would like to have a brighter dome light, install a compatible replacement DE3175 LED light bulb.

Test the new bulb by sliding the "On / Door / Off" switch to the "On" position.

Re-insert the tabs on the rear edge of the lens cover in to the housing first and then gently snap in the front edge.

Slide the switch to the "Door" position so that the dome light will turn on whenever a passenger door is opened.
