This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) Mazda Mazda6 sedan in changing a burnt out low beam, high beam or front turn signal light bulb in the headlight housings.

Owners of other Mazda vehicles such as the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda5, CX-3, CX-5, CX-7, CX-9, and the MX-5 Miata may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11, High Beam # 9005 and Front Turn Signal # 7444NA.

The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulbs is a flathead screwdriver or a pop rivet removal tool.

2nd Fastener
In order to access the low beam and front turn light bulbs, you'll need to partially remove the black plastic wheel well liner.

(The high beam bulbs can easily be accessed from the top of the engine bay.)

The first step is to turn the steering wheel all the way in the opposite direction of the burnt out bulb.

Moving the front wheels will create more working room in the wheel well.

Use a flathead screwdriver or a pop rivet removal tool to gently pry up the center part of the fasteners along the outer edge of the wheel well liner (or "splash guard").

Then pry out the base of each fastener.
