Nissan Rogue
Dome Light Bulb Replacement Guide
How to change a burnt out overhead dome
light bulb in a 2nd generation 2014 to 2018 Nissan Rogue SUV.
2016 Rogue Dome Light |
Gently Pry Out Lens Cover |
This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2014, 2015, 2016 and the revised
2017 or 2018 model year Nissan Rogue SUV in changing the front
windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Murano, Altima, Titan, Versa, Sentra, Maxima, Leaf, 370Z, GT-R, Juke, Pathfinder, Armada, Patrol, Skyline, Cube, X-Trail, Xterra, Qashqai, Rogue Sport, NV200, NV400, Teana, Q50, Q70, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX56, QX60, QX70 and QX80 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement "festoon" style light bulb is part number DE3175 from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Maxell, Eiko and PIAA. You can also use a brighter LED. The only tool needed to access and replace the dome light bulb is a small plastic pry bar tool or a small flathead screwdriver. |

Lens Cover Removed |
Bulb & Socket Exposed |
To prevent from
scratching the plastic surfaces, use either a plastic
pry bar tool or cover the tip of
your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth. Insert the blade of the tool in between the lens cover and the light housing on the left (driver) side near "On / Door / Off" switch. Gently pry out the lens cover. Try to avoid using excessive force. The lens cover should pop out relatively easily. Set the lens cover aside in a safe place. |
|
Pull Back Metal Tab |
Release Old Light Bulb |
Gently pull back
the flexible metal electrical contact on the left (driver) side of the
socket. Be careful when you remove the old light bulb. If the old bulb was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |

Install New Light Bulb |
Push a new number
DE3175 festoon light bulb
straight in to the socket. If you want to have a brighter dome light, choose a compatible LED bulb. (Tip - If you are installing an LED bulb and it doesn't work at first, try removing it and flipping it around in the socket.) |
|
Re-Insert Tabs On Right |
Gently Snap In Lens Cover |
Re-insert the
plastic tabs on the right (passenger) side of the lens cover in to their
corresponding slots. Gently pop in the left (driver) side of the lens cover back in to the housing. Test the new light bulb by moving the switch to the "ON" position. I recommend leaving the "ON / OFF / DOOR" switch in the "Door" position so that the dome light will turn on when ever a passenger door is opened. For more, check out all of my
