2009-2013 Toyota Corolla Automatic Transmission Fluid Change Guide
Transmission Fluid Drain

19. 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla Automatic Transmission Fluid Change

Toyota says that the "ATF" (automatic transmission fluid) in a tenth generation Corolla is a "lifetime" fluid and should never need to be replaced under normal operating conditions.

But many people feel that a simple drain and fill to change about half of the fluid is a good preventative maintenance practice to perform every few years or about every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. Check out my DIY guide for the procedure by clicking on the text link above or the picture to the left.

I replaced the belt early at just over 50,000 miles as a preventative maintenance procedure since it was only about $16 for a new Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V belt.
