This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
& 2017) Chrysler 300, 300C or 300S sedan in changing a burnt out map
light bulb in the overhead console. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles such as the Town & Country, 200, Pacifica, Avenger, Charger, Journey, Challenger, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Grand Cherokee, Renegade, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The replacement bulb part number is 2825 (or W5W) which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA and Eiko. You can also use a brighter LED unit. The only tool needed to access and replace the map light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
To prevent from
scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to either cover the tip of
your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or you can use a plastic
automotive pry bar tool. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the rear edge of the lens cover and the overhead console. Gently pry out the rear edge of the lens cover. Then pull the two plastic tabs on the front edge (closest to the windshield) out of their slots. I had to use the flathead screwdriver to coax the two tabs out of the slots. Set the lens cover aside in a safe place. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. If you have trouble getting a grip on the bulb, try putting a pair of latex or Nitrile rubber gloves. |

Re-Insert Plastic Tabs |
Push a new #
2825 bulb straight in to the
socket. If necessary, you can also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the number 168, 158, 194, W5W or a compatible LED unit. Re-insert the two tabs on the front edge of the lens cover back in to their slots. |

Re-Insert Retaining Clip |
Gently Pop In Lens Cover |
Test New Map Lights |
Then carefully pop
in the retaining clip on the rear edge of the lens cover. Test the new map light bulbs by pressing on the indentations at the rear edge of the lens covers to activate the "On/Off" switches. For more, check out all of my
