Front Turn Signal & DRL Light Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a burnt out front turn
signal or DRL (daytime running light) bulb in a 2008-2015 Fiat 500 with photos.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the "new" Type 312 (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014 and 2015) Fiat 500 hatchback supermini car in changing a burnt
out front turn signal or DRL (daytime running light) bulb located in
the front bumper cover below the headlight housing. Owners of other Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles such as the 4C, Giulia, 200, 300, Town & Country, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade, Cherokee, Patriot, 1500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: Front Turn Signal # WY21W (also 7440A or 7440NA) and DRL # W21/5W or 7443. No tools are needed to change either light bulb. |

The first step is
to turn the steering all the way in the opposite direction of the burnt out
turn signal or DRL light bulb. Turning the front wheels will give you more working room in the wheel well to access the bulb sockets. Gently pull back the release tab on the rectangular access panel before pulling it out of the black plastic wheel well liner or "splash guard". Set the access cover aside in a safe place. |

Bulb Sockets Exposed |
The DRL (daytime
running lamp) bulb socket is located at the top of the housing and the Front
Turn Signal light bulb socket is located at the bottom of the housing. Twist off the round black plastic dust cover a 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction. Set the dust cap aside in a safe place. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Push In New 7440NA |
Rotate the base of
the front turn signal light bulb 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction
before pulling it straight out of the housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 7440NA, 7440A or WY21W. |

Pull Out Old Bulb |
Re-insert the
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Rotate the black plastic base of the DRL light bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 7443 or W21/5W. |

Re-insert the bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. | ||

Line Up Plastic Tabs |
Line up the black
plastic dust cover and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Re-insert the plastic tabs on the inner edge of the access panel and then pop in the retaining clip on the outer edge. |

Test New Turn Signal |
New DRL Bulb Working |
Test the new light
bulbs by turning on the headlights and activating the hazard signals. For more,
