How to change a burnt out dual filament
low/high beam headlight bulb in a 2008 to 2015 Fiat 500 with the part number.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the "new" Type 312 (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014 and 2015) Fiat 500 hatchback supermini car in changing a burnt
out dual filament combination low and high beam headlight bulb. Owners of other Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles such as the 4C, Giulia, 200, 300, Town & Country, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade, Cherokee, Patriot, 1500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement low / high beam bulbs are part number 9012 which are available from manufacturers such as Philips, Sylvania and Wagner. No tools are needed to access and replace the headlight bulbs. |

Pull Back Retaining Clip |
The first two steps
are to pop open the hood and then move to the side of the vehicle with the
burnt out headlight bulb. Reach in behind the headlight assembly and rotate the round black plastic dust cover 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove it. Set the dust cap aside in a safe place. Gently pull back the grey plastic retaining clip on the electrical connector before sliding the power plug straight off the base of the old bulb. |

Old 9012 Bulb Removed |
Rotate the base of the old bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the socket. | ||

Insert New 9012 Bulb |
1/4 Turn Clockwise Lock |
Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or
anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel. Insert the new # 9012 bulb in to the headlight housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Test New Headlight Bulb |
Push the power plug
straight on to the base of the new headlight bulb until the retaining clip
clicks securely in to place. Replace the round black plastic dust cover by rotating it 1/4 turn clockwise. Test the new light bulbs by activating the headlights and flashing the high beams. For more,
