The land
where the Green Cay Wetlands now reside were formerly a farm that
produced bell peppers and other vegetables. After forty years as a farm, the land was allowed to revert back to a wetland oasis for wildlife and native flora. Green Cay is nestled within a suburban area of Palm Beach County at 12800 Hagen Ranch Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437. The two major features of this attraction are the 1.5 mile elevated boardwalk and the 9,000 square feet nature center. On the boardwalk, you'll find informative signs detailing the most common plant life, birds, and other animals found in the area. There is also a large "Chickee Hut" built in the same fashion as the Seminole Indians have constructed in the past. The boardwalk is open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day. |

During our three visits to the Green Cay Wetlands, I also captured a few short video clips. I edited together these clips into a short video that runs about 3 minutes long, has a file size of 60 MB, and is encoded in the WMV (Windows Media Video) format.
