This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and possibly also the 2019 and 2020 model years) Jeep Renegade SUV in changing a burnt out vanity mirror light bulb in the sun visor.

Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat vehicles such as the 200, 300, Pacifica, Town & Country, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Fiat 500 500X or 500L, Fiat 124 Spider, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The compatible replacement sub-miniature wedge base light bulb part number is 74 (also known as 2723 or W2.3W).

If you would like to have a brighter vanity light, install a 74 LED bulb.

The tools needed to complete this procedure include a small flathead screwdriver and a plastic pry bar tool.

Turn Over Mirror
To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, I recommend either covering the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or instead use a plastic pry bar tool.

Gently pry out the mirror assembly from the sun visor.

You may need to re-insert the pry bar tool in several locations around the mirror's frame to fully remove it.

Turn over the mirror assembly to access the bulb housing.
