For New Year's Eve on
December 31st 2005, my friends and I had no specific plans, as usual.
 We decided to just take the short drive over to downtown Fort Lauderdale Florida and join the eclectic nightlife. After my friend parked his SUV packed full of party people in the garage on SW 2nd Street, we started our New Year's Eve adventure in the Las Olas Riverfront area. Some of the night clubs we bounced in and out of include Rush Street, Art Bar, Voodoo Lounge, Automatic Slims and Brick. If you prefer to be near the beach, the Oceanfront area of Fort Lauderdale is always an option. I recommend Lulu's Bait Shack and the Ugly Tuna Saloona, which are both on or near South Atlantic Ave. |

| Luckily we remembered to hit the streets of Downtown Fort Lauderdale before midnight so that we could watch the big lighted ball under drop down to the 2006 sign. The Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the local clubs, bars, and restaurants sponsored a rock concert featuring the Beddy Ford Band and also an aerial fireworks display to celebrate the new year. | |
