This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 1st generation (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, & 2013) Nissan
Rogue with the QR25DE motor in cleaning or changing the engine air
filter element. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Versa, Cube, Sentra, Altima, LEAF, Maxima, Juke, Murano, Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada, Quest, Frontier, Titan, 370Z, G37, M37, EX37, FX37, JX35, and QX56 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A few compatible aftermarket engine air filters with their part numbers are as follows: Fram CA6900, Purolator A24675, K&N 33-2409, Wix 46044, Pentius PAB6900, Mann MA1128, Beck Arnley 042-1492 and Valvoline # VA-261. No tools are needed to access the engine air filter.A wet/dry shop vacuum can be useful for cleaning the original element and the air box. |

Left Release Tab |
Pull Off Filter Cover |
The air cleaner box
is located at the top right side of the engine bay closest to the driver's
seat. Press the release tabs on the left and right side of the air box before pulling the filter cover straight off. |
|
Grab Edge of Filter Tray |
Slide Out Filter Tray |
Grab the edge of the filter tray and slide it straight out of the air box. | |
|
|
Check Both Sides |
Clean With Vacuum |
Inspect both sides
of the filter. If the old filter is relatively clean, just out the large debris and clean it with a vacuum before re-installing it. If the old filter is dark grey or black and clogged with dirt, dust, hair, insects, and leaves, it should be replaced with a new element. I recommend buying the Fram CA6900 engine air filter since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. |

Clean Both Sides |
Insert New Air Filter |
If you plan on
replacing the air filter, pop it out of the filter tray and insert the new
one. Slide the filter tray in to the air box with the finger grips facing down. The filter tray only fits in one way, so don't use excessive force. |
