This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Toyota Yaris in changing the front windshield window wiper blade.

Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Corolla, Matrix, Prius, Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM wiper blade size in inches is 28".

A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Bosch 28A, Anco 31-28, Champion Wipers CH-28-H, Valeo 900281B, Trico 20-280 and Toyota 85222-52212.

The only tool needed to replace the windshield wiper blade is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool.

The first step is to lift the single wiper arm off the windshield window until it remains in the raised position by itself.

Use a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool to gently lift the bottom edge of the black plastic locking tab located at the center of the old wiper blade.

Swing open the locking tab.

Line Up Blade & Arm
Place a towel down on the windshield to protect the window from being cracked, chipped, scratched or shattered just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the glass.

Line up the opening in the center of the new wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm.

The wiper blade should be almost perpendicular to the wiper arm with the rubber blade facing away from the car.

Wiper Blade Replaced
Gently lower the wiper arm down to the window.

For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the windshield and applying a window treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X.
