This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and
2008) Honda Pilot SUV in changing a burnt out front side marker
(turn signal) light bulb located in the front quarter panel or
"fender". Owners of other Honda or Acura vehicles such as the Accord, Civic, Crosstour, CR-V, CR-Z, Fit, Insight, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, ILX, TSX, TLX, TL, RLX, RDX, NSX and MDX may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement miniature wedge base light bulb part number is 168 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Bosch, PIAA and Eiko. You can also choose to install a brighter 168 LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulb is a small flat head screwdriver. |

Two Pop Rivets Removed |
The first step is
to turn the steering wheel all the way in the direction of the burnt out
front side marker light bulb. (For example, If you have a burnt out driver side front side marker bulb, turn the steering wheel to the left.) Moving the front wheels will create more working room in the wheel well. Locate the two black plastic pop rivet fasteners along the rear edge of the black plastic wheel well liner or "splash guard". Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry out the smaller middle part of the fasteners. Then lift out the base of the fasteners. Set the two fasteners aside in a safe place. |
