Headlight Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a burnt out low beam, high
beam, turn signal, side marker or DRL light bulb in a 2003 to 2008 Honda Pilot.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and
2008) Honda Pilot SUV in changing a burnt out low beam, high beam,
front turn signal, side marker and DRL (daytime running lamp) light
bulbs in the headlight assemblies. Owners of other Honda or Acura vehicles such as the Accord, Civic, Crosstour, CR-V, CR-Z, Fit, Insight, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, ILX, TSX, TLX, TL, RLX, RDX, NSX and MDX may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11, High Beam # 9005, Front Turn Signal # 7507 (also PY21W or 12496), Side Marker # 2825 (or W5W) and DRL (daytime running lamp) # 2825 (or W5W). No tools are required to access and replace any of the headlight bulbs in either the driver or passenger side housing. |

Disconnect Power Plug |
The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out
headlight bulb. The Low Beam headlight bulb is located near the bottom outer corner of the headlight assembly. Reach in behind the headlight housing and rotate the base of the old low beam bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. Press in the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding the power plug straight off the base of the old low beam bulb. |

Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new low beam bulb with your fingers or
anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. |

Insert New # H11 Bulb |
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Push On Electrical Connector |
Install the new
number H11 low beam bulb in to
the headlight housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new bulb until it clicks securely in to place. |

High Beam - Inner Bottom |

The High Beam
light bulb is located near the bottom inner corner of the headlight housing. Push down the release tab on the blue plastic electrical connector before sliding it straight off the base of the old high beam bulb. |

Rotate the base of the old high beam bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. | ||

Avoid touching the
glass part of the new halogen high beam bulb with your fingers or anything
greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, clean it off with some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. Insert the new number 9005 high beam bulb bulb in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Push the electrical
connector straight on to the base of the new high beam bulb. The DRL (daytime running lamp) light is located near the top middle of the headlight assembly. Rotate the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull it straight out of the housing. |

Pull the old light
bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new number
2825 (also known as a
W5W) bulb. Re-insert the bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

The Front Turn
Signal light bulb is located near the top inner corner of the headlight
housing. Rotate the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull it straight out of the housing. Push the old bulb down in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out. |

Push a new number
7507 light bulb down in to the
socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Other compatible front turn signal light bulb part numbers include the PY21W and the 12496. Re-insert the bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Test New Headlight Bulbs |
The Front Side
Marker light is located near the top outer corner of the headlight housing. Rotate the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new number 2825 bulb. Re-insert the side marker bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place.
