This automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the ninth generation (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) Toyota Corolla in removing old windshield wiper blades and installing new ones.

Owners of other Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles such as the Corolla, Camry, Matrix, Yaris, Tacoma, Prius, Tundra, Sienna, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, RX 350, FR-S, iQ, tC, xB, and xD may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

Replacement wiper blades are size 24" for the driver side and 18 inch for the passenger side of the car.

A few compatible blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 24A & Bosch 18A, Rain-X 5079280-1 & Rain-X 5079275-1, Anco 31-24 & Anco 31-18, Michelin 8024 & Michelin 8018, Valeo 900241B & Valeo 900181B, PIAA 95060 & PIAA 95045 and ACDelco 8-4424 & ACDelco 8-4418.

No tools are needed to replace the windshield wiper blades.

The first step is to raise one of the wiper arms up perpendicular to the windshield.

Place a folded towel on the windshield to protect it just in case the wiper arm slaps down on to the glass when the blade has been removed.

Rotate the wiper blade away from the wiper arm to reveal the black plastic bracket in the black metal hook.

Press the small black plastic release tab at the bottom of the wiper bracket in towards the metal wiper arm.

While holding the release tab, slide the old wiper blade down off the wiper arm towards the windshield.

Pass the metal hook on the wiper arm through the hole above the wiper blade mounting bracket.

I recommend buying the Bosch 24A and Bosch 18A wiper blades since they have excellent reviews on Amazon.

Rotate the mounting bracket on the new wiper blade so that it is at an angle.

Line up the metal hook on the wiper arm with the plastic mounting bracket on the new wiper blade.

Slide the mounting bracket in to the hook on the wiper arm until it clicks in to place.

Rotate the new wiper blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm.

Double check that the new wiper blade is securely installed on the wiper arm before lowering it back down to the windshield.

Be sure to record the wiper blade change in your vehicle's service records.
