in the overhead console of a B16 6th generation 2007 to 2012 Nissan Sentra.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the sixth generation "B16" (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 &
2012) Nissan Sentra sedan in changing a burnt out map light bulb in
the overhead console or replacing both bulbs with brighter LED
units. Owners of other Nissan vehicles with similar map light housings such as the Versa, Cube, Altima, Maxima, Leaf, Pathfinder, 370Z, Juke, Rogue, Xterra, Murano and Quest may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement bulb is part number 168 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko, Wagner and PIAA. If necessary, you may also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 194, W5W or 2825. The tools needed to replace the bulbs include a small flathead screwdriver and a standard Phillips head screwdriver. |

Loosen Phillips Head Screw |
To prevent from
scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of the
screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth. Carefully insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in to the notch on the front edge of the translucent plastic lens cover. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. Remove the single screw located in between the two map lights by turning it counterclockwise with a Phillips head screwdriver. |

Rotate the base of
the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull it straight out. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 168 bulb. I recommend using the Sylvania 168LL long life light bulbs. |
