Smart Key Fob Battery Replacement Guide
How to change the battery in the "Keyless 
Enter-N-Go" smart key fob of a 7th generation 2011-2014 Dodge Charger sedan.

| This 
			automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist 
			owners of the seventh generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & possibly 
			also the revised 2015) Dodge Charger sedan in changing the battery 
			in the "Keyless Enter-N-Go" intelligent key fob for the keyless 
			entry system. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge and RAM vehicles with similar key fobs such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Avenger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Grand Caravan, Ram C/V Tradesman and 1500 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement coin cell (A.K.A. "button" or "watch") battery is part number CR2032 which is available from various manufacturers such as Panasonic, Duracell, Energizer, Philips, GE, Sony and Maxell. The only tool needed to replace the battery is a small flathead screwdriver. You may also be able to use a coin, key, knife, nail file or any other similar item. | ||

| The first step is 
	to turn over the smart key fob and locate the silver release tab for the 
	emergency / backup metal ignition key. Slide the release tab over and pull out the metal ignition key. Set the key aside in a safe place. | ||

| Insert the blade of 
	the small flathead screwdriver in between the two halves of the key fob and 
	gently pry them apart. Pull out the old battery from the back cover of the fob with your fingernail or very carefully use the flathead screwdriver. Try to avoid damaging or bending the metal electrical contacts. The OEM battery for this 2014 Charger was a Panasonic CR2032 3V coin cell. | ||

| Insert a new # CR2032 3 volt battery in to the socket with the "+" positive side facing down and the "-" negative side facing up towards you. | ||

| Make sure that the 
	new battery is seated securely in to the holder. Line up the two halves of the fob and gently snap them together. | ||
|  Re-Insert Backup Ignition Key |  Key Fob Re-Assembled |  Test New Key Fob Battery | 
| Re-insert the metal 
	ignition key in to the fob. To test the new key fob battery, stand near your Charger and press the "Unlock" or "Lock" buttons. If the new battery is working properly, you should see the parking lights flash and hear the door locks opening or closing. Be sure to record the battery change in your vehicle's service records.
