This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fourth generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015)
Hyundai Accent in changing a burnt out high mount third brake light
bulb in the rear deck panel. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tiburon, Genesis, Lavita, Veracruz, Santa Fe, ix20, i20, ix35, Fluidic Verna, Equus, Cadenza, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sedona, Sorento, Spectra and Sportage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement 3rd brake light bulb is part number 921 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. If you would like to have a brighter third brake light, install a compatible replacement 921 LED bulb. No tools are needed to replace the bulb. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Remove Bulb Socket |
Pull Out Old # 921 Bulb |
The first two steps
are to open the trunk lid and then locate the black plastic third brake
light bulb socket. Rotate the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. I'd recommend buying the Sylvania 921 LL long life light bulbs since they tend to last a very long time. If you would like to have a brighter and even longer lasting third brake light, install a compatible replacement 921 LED bulb. |

Opening In Light Housing |
Push In New # 921 Bulb |

Push a new #
921 bulb straight in to the socket. Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Test the new third brake light bulb by having someone step on the brake pedal. For more,
