| This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
 owners of the fourth generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015)
Hyundai Accent in cleaning or changing the A/C system's cabin air
filter element in the HVAC blower motor housing. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tiburon, Genesis, Lavita, Veracruz, Santa Fe, ix20, i20, ix35, Fluidic Verna, Equus, Cadenza, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sedona, Sorento, Spectra and Sportage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.A few compatible replacement cabin air filters with their part numbers are as follows: TYC 800029P, Fram CF10709, PT Auto # CF029P, OEM CAF126P, Wix 24684, Mann Filter MC 1081, K&N VF2007, Pentius PHB5865, Purolator C35865, Mahle LA 301, Hastings AFC1350, Denso 453-6005, and Ecogard XC35865. No tools are needed to replace the cabin air filter.

| Pull Off Plastic Ring | Glove Box Side Stop | Rotate Counterclockwise |
| The first few steps
are to sit in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, open the glove box
and empty out the contents. Then locate the damper rope attached to a plastic ring hooked to a peg on the right side wall of the glove box. Pull the plastic ring off the peg to release the damper string and allow it to slowly recoil. To release the two glove box side stoppers, rotate them 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling them out.
| Side Stopper Removed | Remove Left Side Stop | Lower Glove Box To Floor |
| If you have trouble
turning the side stops, slightly raise the glove box. Set the two side stops aside in a safe place. Gently lower the glove box down to the passenger floor mat.
| Blower Motor Housing | Right Side Retaining Clip | Pinch Together Two Prongs |
| Once the glove box
is out of the way, you'll be able to see the black plastic blower motor
housing. The rectangular black plastic cabin filter access panel is held in place by two retaining clips. Gently squeeze together the two prongs on each side of the cover to release the clips.
| Prongs On Left Side | Squeeze Prongs On Left | Pull Off Filter Cover |
| Pull the filter access cover straight off the blower motor housing and set it aside in a safe place. | ||
|
| ||
| Filter Access Panel Removed | OEM Filter Exposed | Slide Out Old Air Filter |
| Slide the old filter straight out of the slot. | ||
| Inspect Both Sides | Clean With Vacuum | Filter Slot In Blower Motor |
| Inspect both sides
of the old filter. If the old filter is relatively clean, tap out the large debris and remove any fine dust with a vacuum cleaner. If the old filter is dark grey or black and clogged with dirt, dust, leaves, twigs, insects, hair, pollen and soot, it should be replaced with a new element. I'd recommend buying the TYC 800029P cabin air filter since it has the best reviews on Amazon.
| Air Flow Arrow Down | Filter Cover Arrow Up | Push On Filter Cover |
| Orientate the new
or cleaned air filter with the "Air Flow" arrow pointing down towards the
floor mat. Slide the new filter straight in to the slot. Place the filter access panel over the slot with the "Up" arrow pointing towards the ceiling. Gently push on the filter cover until you hear or feel the two retaining clips click in place.
| Pull Out Damper String | Attach Ring To Peg | Re-Insert Side Stop |
| Raise the glove box
towards the dashboard. Pull the damper string out from the side of the glove box. Place the plastic ring over the peg on the outer right side of the glove box. Re-insert the rubber side stoppers and rotate them 1/4 turn clockwise to secure them in place.
| 1/4 Turn Clockwise | Replace Right Side Stopper | Close Glove Box |
| Replace the
contents of the glove box and close it to complete the job. For more,
