How to change a low / high beam, front
turn signal or side marker light bulb in a 4th generation 2011 to 2015 Hyundai

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fourth generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015)
Hyundai Accent in changing a burnt out combination low and high beam
dual filament bulb, front turn signal or side marker light bulb in
the headlight assemblies. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tiburon, Genesis, Lavita, Veracruz, Santa Fe, ix20, i20, ix35, Fluidic Verna, Equus, Cadenza, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sedona, Sorento, Spectra and Sportage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The replacement bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: Low/High Beam Headlight # 9003, Front Turn Signal # 2357A and Side Marker # 2825 (also 168 or W5W). No tools are needed to change any of the bulbs in the headlight housings on either the driver or passenger side of the vehicle. |

Pull Off Electrical Connector |
The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt
out headlight bulb. The dual filament low and high beam headlight bulb is located near the center of the housing. Reach in behind the assembly and rotate the black plastic dust cover 1/4 turn counterclockwise before removing it. Pull the black plastic electrical connector straight off the base of the old headlight bulb. |

The headlight bulb
is held in place by a metal retaining arm. Press the left end of the retaining arm towards the front of the vehicle and remove it from the hook. |

Pull Out Old Headlight Bulb |
Old Osram 9003 Bulb |
Swing the metal
retaining arm open to the right. Pull the old headlight bulb out of the socket. |

Empty Bulb Socket |
Insert New # 9003 |
Swing Arm Closed |
Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new halogen headlight bulb with your fingers
or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with an alcohol moistened paper towel. Insert the new 9003 low/high beam headlight bulb in to the socket. Swing the metal retaining arm closed and re-attach the left end to the hook. |

Push On Power Plug |
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Push the black
plastic power plug on to the base of the new bulb. Line up the black plastic dust cover and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Pull Off Power Plug |
The Front Turn
Signal light is located at the inner corner of the assembly. Reach in behind the housing and press the release tab on the grey power plug before sliding it straight off. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Remove Turn Signal Socket |
Push Down & 1/4 Turn CC |
Rotate the base of
the turn signal bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before removing it
from the housing. Push the old bulb down in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out. |

Push a new amber
colored # 2357A bulb in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to
secure it in place. Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place. |

Push On Power Plug |
Click Securely In Place |

Push the grey plastic electrical connector straight on to the base of the turn signal bulb socket until it clicks securely in place. | ||
Front Side Marker Light |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
The Front Side
Marker light is located at the outer edge of the headlight assembly. Rotate the small grey bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise and remove it from the housing. |

Remove Bulb Socket |
Pull Out Old # 2825 Bulb |
Opening In Housing |
Pull the old bulb
straight out of the socket and push in a new #
2825 bulb. If necessary, you may also replace it with any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the number 168, W5W, 158, 194 or a compatible LED unit. |

1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Test New Headlight Bulbs |
Side Marker & Turn Signal |
Re-insert the
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Test the new light bulbs by turning on the headlights, activating the hazard signals and flashing the high beams. For more,
