Accent Tail Light Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a brake, turn signal or
reverse bulb in the tail lights of a 4th generation 2011-2015 Hyundai Accent.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fourth generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015)
Hyundai Accent in changing a burnt out brake, rear turn signal or
reverse bulb in the tail light housings. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tiburon, Genesis, Lavita, Veracruz, Santa Fe, ix20, i20, ix35, Fluidic Verna, Equus, Cadenza, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sedona, Sorento, Spectra and Sportage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: Brake # 2357, Rear Turn Signal # 1156A and Reverse # 921. The bulbs are available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. No tools are needed to access any of the tail light bulbs. |

The first two steps
are to open the trunk lid and then move to the side of the vehicle with the
burnt out tail light bulb. Then pull up the two metal tabs to release the retaining clips holding the access panel closed. Swing open the access panel and locate the three tail light bulb sockets. The Brake light bulb socket is located at the outer edge of the housing. |

Grey Brake Bulb Socket |
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Push Down & 1/4 Turn CC |
Rotate the grey
brake light bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight
out of the housing. Push the old bulb down and rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the socket. |

Insert New # 2357 Bulb |

Push a new #
2357 dual filament brake / parking light bulb down in to the socket and rotate it
1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Re-insert the bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place. The Rear Turn Signal bulb socket is located near the center of the tail light housing. Rotate the white plastic turn signal bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it out of the housing. |

Push a new amber
colored # 1156A bulb down in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise
to secure it in place. Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place. The Reverse Light bulb socket is located near the inner edge of the housing. (The following steps are not shown in pictures.) Rotate the reverse bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 921 bulb. Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Swing the access
panel closed and secure the two retaining clips. To test the new tail light bulbs, have someone step on the brake pedal, activate the hazard signals and shift the transmission in to reverse. For more,
