This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the XV50 7th generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016)
Toyota Camry in changing a burnt out overhead map light bulb. Owners of other Toyota, Scion or Lexus vehicles such as the Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Sienna, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, 4Runner, Land Runner, Sequoia, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement map light bulb is part # 2825 from manufacturers such as Sylvania, PIAA, Eiko and GE. You may also use any other miniature wedge base bulb such as the # 168, W5W, 175, 194 or a compatible LED unit. The only tool needed to replace either of the bulbs is a small flat head screwdriver. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |

Insert the blade of
the small flathead screwdriver in between the translucent map light lens
cover and the overhead console. To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to wrap the tip of the flathead screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. You may need to re-insert the screwdriver at several points to pry out the cover. Do not use excessive force. The lens cover should pop out relatively easily. Pull the old map light bulb straight down and out of the socket. If you have trouble gripping the old bulb, try putting on a latex glove for extra grip. |
