This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fifth generation (2013, 2014, 2015 and probably also
the face lifted 2016 model year) Nissan Altima sedan in changing the
front windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Versa, Maxima, Juke, Rogue, Murano, Xterra, Pathfinder, Sentra, Cube, Armada, Leaf, Quest, Frontier, 370Z, GT-R, Titan, G25, G37, M35 and M37 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM wiper blades are the following sizes in inches: Driver Side 28" and Passenger Side 16" (or 17" from some manufacturers). A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 28A & Bosch 17B, Rain-X 5079282-1 & Rain-X 5079274-1, Anco 31-28 & Anco 31-16, Trico 25-280 & Trico 25-160, Michelin 8028 & Michelin 8017, Valeo U-28 & Valeo U-16 and ACDelco 8-2289 & ACDelco 8-2161. No tools are needed to change the wiper blades. |

Release Tab |
Push In Release Tab |
|
Lift the wiper arm
off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. Firmly push in the black plastic release tab at the center of the wiper blade mounting bracket. |
||
Slide Bracket Out of Hook |
Old Blade Removed |
|
Pull the plastic
mounting bracket at the center of the old wiper blade down and out of the
metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. Detach the old wiper blade from the wiper arm. |

Towel - Protect Glass |
Line Up Hook & Bracket |
|
Place a towel on
the windshield to protect the glass from being cracked, chipped, shattered
or scratched just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window
while you are replacing the wiper blade. I've always preferred buying the Bosch 28A and Bosch 17B wiper blades since they have the best reviews on Amazon and seem to last a long time. Line up the plastic mounting bracket at the center of the new wiper blade with the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. |
||
Pull Bracket In To Hook |
Lower Wiper Arm |
|
Slide the bracket
up and in to the metal hook until it clicks securely in to place. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. Gently lower the wiper arm down to the windshield. For the best wiper performance, I'd recommend thoroughly cleaning off the windshield and applying a window treatment product such as Rain-X or Zaino Glass Polish. For more,
