This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 3rd generation (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and perhaps also the updated 2017 model year) Ford Escape SUV in changing a burnt out low beam, high beam or front side marker light bulb in the headlight housings.

Owners of other Ford or Lincoln vehicles such as the Focus, Fusion, C-Max, Mustang, Fiesta, Transit Connect, Edge, Flex, Explorer, Expedition, Taurus, F-150, EcoSport, MKC, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT and the Navigator may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The replacement bulbs part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11, High Beam # 9005 or H1 (check your old bulbs) and Side Marker # 168.

No tools are needed to change any of the light bulbs in either the driver side or passenger side headlight assemblies.

The first two steps are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out headlight bulb.

The Low Beam bulb is located near the middle of the headlight assembly.

Reach in behind the headlight and gently pull off the round black rubber dust cap to reveal the old bulb.

Set the dust cover aside in a safe place.

Rotate the base of the old bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the socket.
