This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the 3rd generation (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and maybe also
the revised 2017 model year) Ford Escape SUV in changing a burnt out
vanity mirror light bulb located in the sun visor. Owners of other Ford or Lincoln vehicles such as the Focus, Fusion, C-Max, Mustang, Fiesta, Transit Connect, Edge, Flex, Explorer, Expedition, Taurus, F-150, EcoSport, MKC, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT and the Navigator may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM bulb part number was TS-14V1.5CP44. Other compatible replacement "miniature fuse" type light bulbs are part number TS-14V1CP or 6614F, ACDelco # 13502343, Eiko 40842 - 6614F, Bulbrite 756320 - 6614F, and the Putco 230003 LED. The only tool needed to access and replace the bulb is a small flat head screwdriver or a small plastic pry bar tool. |

Gently Pry Out Old Bulb |
Old Bulb Removed |
The first two steps
are to rotate down the sun visor and then flip open the plastic mirror
cover. Gently pry out the translucent plastic lens cover with the small flathead screwdriver. Set the lens cover aside in a safe place. For extra safety, I'd recommend wearing protective eye glasses. Very carefully pry out the bottom metal end cap of the old light bulb. Do not apply force to the glass part of the old bulb to prevent from having it shatter and send glass shards in to your face or eyes. |

Insert New TS-14V1CP |
New Bulb Installed |
Insert a new #
TS-14V1CP or TS-14V1.5CP bulb straight in to the socket. Tip - If you are installing an LED bulb and it doesn't work at first, try removing it from the socket and flipping it around in the opposite direction. |

Line Up Lens Cover |
Gently Pop In Lens Cover |
Test New Vanity Light Bulb |
Line up the plastic
lens cover and gently pop it back in to place. If the bulb didn't turn on as soon as you pushed it in to the socket, flip the mirror cover closed and then open again. You may also need to press the "Unlock" button on the key fob or switch the ignition to the "Run" position. For more,
