beam or a front turn signal light bulb in a 4th generation 2017 to 2022 Kia
Sportage.

This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the fourth
generation (2017, 2018, 2019 and probably also the updated 2020, 2021 and
2022 model years) Kia Sportage SUV in changing a burnt out dual filament
combination low and high beam headlight bulb or the front turn signal light
bulb. (The parking light and front side marker are LED bulbs that should
last the life time of the vehicle.) Owners of other Kia, Hyundai and Genesis vehicles such as the Niro, Optima, Soul, Forte, Rio, Stinger, Cadenza, K900, Sorento, Telluride, Sedona, Kona, Santa Fe, Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Rondo, Carens, Veloster, Ioniq, Nexo, Palisade, G70, G80 and G90 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low / High Beam # 9005 and Front Turn Signal # 2357A or 2357NA. If you would like to have brighter light bulbs that also last a lot longer before needing to be replaced, install some 9005 LED and 2357A LED bulbs. No tools are required to access and replace any of the headlight bulbs. A small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool may be helpful for releasing the stiff plastic retaining clip on the headlight bulb electrical connector. |

Reach in behind the housing and locate the round black plastic dust cover on the back side of the headlight. Rotate the round black plastic access cover 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before pulling it straight off. Set the cover aside in a safe place. |

Push On Connector |
Push the power plug
on to the base of a new number 9005
dual filament combination low and high beam light bulb. The electrical connector should "click" securely into place on to the base of the new light bulb. Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen light bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Having grease, oil or dirt on the new light bulb can create hot spots which may shorten its useful life. If you would like to have brighter headlight bulbs, install some compatible replacement 9005 LED bulbs. |
