The compatible replacement miniature wedge base light bulb part number is 921 (also known as W16W).

If you would like to have brighter reverse lights, install some 921 LED bulbs.

The only tool needed to access and replace the bulbs is a small plastic pry bar tool.

Pull Out Plastic Fastener
Remove 2nd Pop Rivet
Remove 3rd Pop Rivet
The first two steps are to open the trunk lid and then move to the side of the car with the burnt out reverse light bulb.

There are three black plastic pop rivet fasteners on the outer edge of the fabric trunk lid liner.

Gently pull up the round center piece of each fastener with the plastic pry bar tool to unlock them.

Then pry out the base of the fasteners.

3 Pop Rivets Removed
Pull Back Trunk Liner
Reverse Bulb Socket
Set the three pop rivet fasteners aside in a safe place.

Gently pull back the carpeted trunk lid trim cover.

Locate the grey plastic reverse (back-up) bulb socket on the back side of the light housing.

Push In Release Tab
Slide Out Power Plug
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise
Push in the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding it straight out of its socket.

Rotate the base of the bulb socket 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before pulling it straight out of the housing.

Remove Bulb Socket
Pull Out Old Light Bulb
Push In New Light Bulb
Carefully pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket.

Push a new miniature wedge base number 921 light bulb straight into the socket. (It is also known as part # W16W.)

If you would like to have brighter reverse lights, install some compatible replacement 921 LED bulbs.

Empty Bulb Housing
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock
Push In Power Plug
Re-insert the bulb socket into the opening in the rear of the light housing.

Rotate the bulb socket 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place.

Replace Trunk Lid Cover
Push In Pop Rivets
2nd Fastener Replaced
Push the trunk lid trim cover back into place.

Re-insert the three pop rivets into their holes to secure the trunk lid liner in place.

3rd Pop Rivet Replaced
Push In Center - Locked
Test New Reverse Light
Push in the center part of each pop rivet to lock the fasteners in place.

To test the new light bulbs, have an assistant step on the brake pedal and shift the transmission into reverse.

Be sure to record the bulb change in your vehicle's service records.
