Locate Lock Tab
This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the fifth generation (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and the updated 2023 model year) Toyota RAV4 SUV in changing the front windshield window wiper blades.

Owners of other Toyota and Lexus vehicles such as the Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Prius, Avalon, C-HR, GR86, Venza, Sienna, Sequoia, 4Runner, IS 250, IS 300, IS 350, ES 350, GS 350 and GX 460 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM wiper blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 26" and Passenger Side 16".

A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers including the following: Rain-X 5079281-2 & Rain-X 5079274-2, Bosch ICON 26A & 16A, Michelin 3726 & Michelin 3716 and Trico 26" & 16".

The only tool needed to remove and replace the wiper blades is either a standard flat head screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool.

The first step is to lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself.

Locate the rectangular shaped black plastic lock tab in the center of the old wiper blade.

Pull the old wiper blade off the end of the wiper arm.

Place a towel on the windshield to protect the window from being chipped, scratched or cracked just in case just the wiper arm smacks down on to the glass while you are changing the blade.
