The city of Villa Maria is the third largest city in the province of
Cordoba and has a population of almost 80,000 people. It is located
about 340 miles (or 544 kilometers) NW of Buenos Aires, the capital
city of Argentina.
My father was born in Villa Maria and also spent time living in Cordoba and Buenos Aires before leaving Argentina & South America for the United States. Villa Maria has a small town feel, since everyone seems to know everyone else in the city. The most popular recreational area of Villa Maria is the Ctalamochita River, which runs along side the town. During the hot summer months, all of the young adults and families are found relaxing near the river or swimming in the water. |
