Viti Levu Island, Tokoriki Island, and Taveuni Island in Fiji, South Pacific.
1.
Port Denarau Marina - Viti Levu, Fiji After flying from Los Angeles (LAX) to Nadi (NAN) on the island of Viti Levu, we took a taxi over to the Port Denarau Marina. From there we caught our ferry boat ride with South Sea Cruises to Tokoriki Island where we were staying at Amunuca Resort. |

2.
South Sea Cruises - Viti Levu Island To Tokoriki Island It seemed like most visitors to Fiji make their way to other islands once landing on the main island of Viti Levu. The most economical way to travel is by a ferry boat such as the ones South Sea Cruises operates. Wealthy travelers cut their travel time drastically by taking a helicopter such as the "Island Hoppers" service we saw land several times on Tokoriki Island. |

3.
Amunuca Resort - Tokoriki Island, Fiji We chose to stay at Amunuca due to a "stay two, pay one" special that took place after a recent cyclone to attract tourists. The snorkeling was excellent, the island was great for hiking, the food was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. |
|
4.
Tokoriki Resort - Tokoriki Island, Fiji Although we were staying at the much more inexpensive Amunuca Resort on the island, we discovered that we preferred eating at the Tokoriki Resort restaurant. It was just a quick 5-10 minute walk across a field and over a hill to reach the back entrance of Tokoriki Resort. The staff were pleased to have us exploring the grounds and dining in the restaurant even though we were not guests of the hotel. |

Underwater Snorkeling Pictures - Amunuca Resort, Tokoriki Island,
Fiji I must have taken several thousand pictures while snorkeling at Amunuca Resort with an old Canon SD700 IS digital camera in an underwater case. To view the pared down gallery of just a few hundred images, click on the text link above or thumbnail image to the left. |

Novotel Hotel Namaka Hill - Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji After our time at Amunuca Resort on Tokoriki Island came to an end, we spent a few days at the Novotel Hotel on Namaka Hill in Nadi waiting for our flight from NAN to AKL in Auckland, New Zealand. To not waste our few days of down time, we visited some attractions including Nadi Town, the Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Hindu Temple and The Garden of the Sleeping Giant. |
|
7.
Garden of the Sleeping Giant - Viti Levu, Fiji The Garden of the Sleeping Giant was created by actor Raymond Burr in 1977 as a place to keep his private collection of orchid flowers. It was about a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the Novotel Hotel to the garden where we were explore the beautiful grounds and enjoy a complimentary fresh fruit drink before leaving. |
|
8.
Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Hindu Temple - Nadi, Fiji Another must see attraction in the Nadi area is the very colorful and ornate Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Hindu Temple. Be sure to take off your shoes and store them in the rack near the entrance before walking towards the temple. A man should greet you to explain the rules and lead you to the temple manager office to pay the entrance fees. |

9.
Bibi's Hideaway Plantation Resort - Taveuni Island, Fiji We enjoyed our first trip to Fiji so much, that we decided to go back and explore another island after our time in New Zealand. We chose to stay in the Honeymoon Bure at Bibi's Hideaway as a temporary home for our ten nights on Taveuni Island. |
|
10.
Coconut Grove Resort - Taveuni Island, Fiji The restaurant at the Coconut Grove resort was highly recommended by the owners of Bibi's Hideaway. We went there a few times to enjoy breakfast and lunch but never made it for dinner. I was hooked on the Indian curry dishes that a neighboring man would deliver to our bure for a very reasonable price. |

Tavoro River Waterfalls Hike - Bouma National Park, Taveuni Island,
Fiji The two major reasons we visited Taveuni Island was to check out the Bouma National Park and go scuba diving at Rainbow Reef. We first visited Bouma to go on the Tavoro River Waterfalls Hike that takes a few hours and leads you past three beautiful falls. |
|
12.
Lavena Coastal Walk - Bouma National Park, Taveuni Island, Fiji Another attraction at Bouma National Park is the Lavena Coastal Walk where you spend several hours hiking along the coastline admiring the amazing view.

|
13.
Rainbow Reef Scuba Diving - Taveuni Island, Fiji Our one splurge while visiting Taveuni Island was going on a scuba diving trip to the Rainbow Reef with the Jewel Bubble Divers company. Their office and boat are located just a few minutes walking distance away from Bibi's Hideaway. |
|
14.
Maravu Beverly Beach - Taveuni Island, Fiji The closest beach to our honeymoon bure at Bibi's Hideaway was the Maravu Beverly Beach.
|
|
15.
Prince Charles Beach - Taveuni Island, Fiji Another nice beach on Taveuni Island near Bibi's Hideaway is Prince Charles Beach. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk to this beach located just past the Tramonto Restaurant. |
|
16.
Tramonto Restaurant - Matei Town, Taveuni Island, Fiji We walked past the Tramonto Restaurant several times on our way to Prince Charles Beach and decided to eat dinner there one evening. It seemed to be a popular place with expats living on the island. They also seemed to enjoy the tasty pizza pies and ice cold beer served by the restaurant. |
|
17.
Taveuni Island Underwater Snorkeling Pictures We found that the snorkeling near Bibi's Hideaway was best at Prince Charles Beach with the slightly closer Maravu Beverly Beach being a good second choice.
|
|
18.
Matei Town - Taveuni Island, Fiji The majority of our time on Taveuni Island was spent in or around Matei Town where Bibi's Hideaway, Coconut Grove, Maravu Beverly Beach, Prince Charles Beach and Tramonoto Restaurant were located. |

Fiji Aerial Photos - Nadi (NAN), Taveuni (TVU) & Savusavu (SVU)
Flights Fiji is beautiful on the ground, but it looks even more amazing up in the air while flying at a relatively low altitude in a small plane. |
