Cedar Key
is a quaint little town with a population of about 1000 people
located on the Gulf Coast of Florida. We took the short one hour and 60 mile drive from Gainesville to Cedar Key to go fishing for the day and see some of the city's historic sights. Cedar Key is easily within reach for many Florida cities or metro areas such as the following with their respective drive times: Orlando (2.5 hours), Tampa (2.25 hours), Jacksonville (2.5 hours), Tallahassee (3 hours), Sarasota (3 hours), Daytona (3 hours), and Naples (5 hours). Some of the most common recreational activities in Cedar Key include fishing, dining on fresh seafood, boating, kayaking, canoeing, shopping, jet skiing, antique hunting, and visiting the Cedar Key State Museum. |
