I can
still almost taste all of the refreshing beers, flavorful chicken
wings, and spicy chili that we were able to sample at the 2011
Celebrate Sarasota Festival.
The event was held in Phillippi Estate Park at 5500 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231 from 12 noon to 7 PM on Saturday February 26th. Pre-sale tickets purchased online were just $20 per person for unlimited samples of chicken wings, chili, and beer. Tickets could also be purchased at the entrance to the event for $30. Some of the other features of the 2011 Celebrate Sarasota Festival included six bands playing live music, a cornhole tournament, a motorcycle show, vendor booths, a mechanical hammerhead shark ride, sumo wrestling, karaoke, a VIP "Beer Garten" area, and wine sampling from PRP Wine International. |

The six bands performing live at the main gazebo in Phillippi Estate Park during the Celebrate Sarasota event were Four Bones, Andre Fabre, Cross Fire, Big Blue House, Vin Lamar, and Kettle of Fish. These six great bands kept the music going from noon up until the chili and chicken wing cook-off winners were announced at 6 PM.

Overall, we had an excellent time at the Celebrate Sarasota event and definitely got our money's worth. I personally had at least 15-20 chicken wings, 8-10 little bowls of chili and countless samples of ice cold beer throughout the day. We drove three hours from Gainesville to attend and highly recommend visiting the 2012 Celebrate Sarasota event next year to anyone living in or visiting Central Florida.
