beam or front turn signal in a 2017, 2018 or 2019 Pacifica minivan.

This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2017, 2018, 2019 and probably also the 2020 and 2021 model years) Chrysler Pacifica minivan in changing a burnt out low beam, high beam or front turn signal light bulb in the headlight housings. Owners of other FCA (Fiat Chrysler America) vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Charger, Challenger, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Compass, Renegade, Patriot, RAM 1500, RAM ProMaster City, Fiat 500 and Fiat 124 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # 9005, High Beam 9005 and Front Turn Signal # PWY24WNA. The only tool you might need is a pair of needle nose pliers to help turn a stubborn front turn signal light bulb socket. |

Move Rubber Cover |
Round Dust Cover |
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt
out headlight housing. The low beam light bulb is located near the outer edge of the headlight housing. The lens for the low beam resembles a cloudy eye. Gently pull back the rubber flat that covers the area just behind the headlight housing. You can wedge the cover in place behind the wiper fluid filler tube to keep it in place. Rotate the round black plastic dust cap 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before pulling it straight out. Set the dust cover aside in a safe place. |
||
Rear of Low Beam Bulb |
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Pull Back Retaining Clip |
Rotate the base of
the old low beam bulb 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before
pulling it straight out of the housing. Gently pull back on the retaining clip tab to release the electrical connector. Slide the power plug straight off the base of the old low beam bulb. |

Push On Power Plug |
The original OEM
light bulb was a Sylvania HB3 U 9005 HL+. Avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen light bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, clean it with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new 9005 light bulb. |
||
Insert New Low Beam |
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Round Black Plastic Cover |
Insert the new low beam bulb into the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. | ||
Twist On 1/4 Turn Clockwise |
Replace Rubber Cover |
High Beam - Inner Corner |
Replace the round
black plastic dust cover by twisting it on 1/4 turn in the clockwise
direction. The high beam light bulb is located closer to the middle and inner corner of the headlight assembly. |
||
Round Dust Cover |
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Base of Old High Beam |

Remove Old High Beam |
Pull Back Retaining Clip |
Rotate the base of
the old high beam bulb 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before

Old Bulb Separated |
Sylvania 9005 LL Bulb |
Push On Power Plug |
Avoid touching the
glass part of the new high beam light bulb with your fingers or anything
greasy in the engine bay. If you do get it dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new 9005 high beam light bulb until it clicks securely into place. |
||
Empty Bulb Housing |
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Black Plastic Dust Cap |

|
||
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |

Replace the dust
cap by turning it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction. The front turn signal light bulb is a little more difficult to access. |
||
Pry Up Center of Fastener |
Pull Out Pop Rivet |
Remove Other Fasteners |
You'll need to at
least partially remove the black plastic cover at the front of the engine
bay that covers the radiator and the headlight housings. Pry up the center part of the pop rivet fasteners to unlock them. Then pry out the base of the fasteners. |
||
Set Aside Pop Rivets |
Lift Plastic Radiator Cover |
Base of Turn Signal Socket |
Set the pop rivets
aside in a safe place. Gently raise the plastic radiator cover or fully remove it if you took out all of the pop rivets. Once the cover is out of the way, you'll be able to see the black plastic base of the front turn signal light bulb buried down at the rear of the headlight assembly. |
||

||
Push In New Light Bulb |
Test New Turn Signal Bulb |
Lower In Bulb Socket |
Push a new number
PWY24WNA amber colored light bulb
straight into the socket. Since the turn signal bulb is somewhat difficult to replace, I recommend testing the new bulb before you re-install it into the housing. To test the new bulb, turn on the hazard signals. |
||
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Bulb Socket Secured |
|
Re-insert the bulb
socket into the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to
secure it into place. You may need to use the needle nose pliers or a flathead screwdriver to help turn the bulb socket. |
||
Lower Plastic Cover |
Push In Pop Rivets |
Headlight Bulbs Replaced |
Lower the plastic
cover back into place over the headlight housing. Push in the fasteners and then pop in the round center piece to lock them into place. To test the new light bulbs, turn on the headlights, flash the high beams and activate the hazard signals. For more,
