This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Dodge Dart in changing a
burnt out dome light bulb in the overhead housing above the rear
passenger seats or upgrading both bulbs with brighter LED units. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge and RAM vehicles such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Avenger, Charger, Journey, Challenger, Durango, Grand Caravan, and Ram C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The replacement bulb part number is 168 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA and Eiko. If you would like to have brighter dome lights, choose some compatible 168 LED bulbs. The only tool needed to access and replace the two light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool used to pry out the lens covers. |

To prevent from
scratching the plastic surfaces, I'd recommend covering the tip of your
screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or use a plastic automotive pry
bar tool. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the outer edge of the lens cover and the housing. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. |

Gently Pry Out Reflector |

Then gently pry out
the chrome plastic reflector with the small flathead screwdriver. Set the reflector aside in a safe place. |

Old # 168 Bulb |
If the old bulb was recently illuminated, be careful when you remove it
since it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger before pulling it straight out of the socket. |

Push In New 168 or W5W |
Re-Insert Reflector |
Re-Insert Plastic Tab |
Push a new #
168 or
W5W bulb straight in to the socket. If necessary, you may also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 2825, 158, 194 or a compatible LED bulb. First re-insert the plastic tab on the lens cover in to the housing. |
