This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 1st generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Dodge Journey SUV in changing the battery in the "Keyless Enter-N-Go" smart key fob remote control.

Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge and RAM vehicles with similar key fobs such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Grand Caravan, Ram C/V Tradesman and 1500 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement "coin" cell (A.K.A. "button" or "watch") battery is part number CR2032 from manufacturers such as Panasonic, Sony, GE, Energizer and Maxell.

The only tool needed to change the old battery is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry apart the two halves of the fob.

The first step is to turn over the smart key fob and locate the grey metal sliding tab.

Push the tab over to the other side to release the metal ignition key and pull the key out of the fob.

Then insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the two halves of the fob and gently pry them apart.

Carefully pry out the old coin cell battery from the back cover of the key fob with your finger nail or with the small flathead screwdriver. If you use the screwdriver, try to avoid damaging the metal electrical contacts.

Re-insert the metal ignition key in to its slot until it clicks securely in to place.

Test the new key fob battery by standing next to your Journey and pressing the "Unlock" or "Lock" buttons.

If the new battery is working properly, you should see the parking lights flash and hear the door locks opening or closing.
