Owners of other Dodge, Ram Trucks, or Chrysler vehicles such as the Dart, Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Dakota, Journey, Grand Caravan, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500, C/V Tradesman,  200, 300, Aspen, Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee and Town & Country may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A few compatible aftermarket air filter elements include the following with their part numbers: Purolator A35462, Fram CA9401, K&N 33-2247, Wix 42725, Mann MA 1037, Pentius PAB9401, Ecogard XA3462, Bosch 5342WS, ACDelco A2943C, Champion CAP9401,

The first two steps are to open the hood and move to the rear left (passenger side) of the engine bay.

The top half of the engine air box is held in place by four latches.

Firmly press the latches down and away from the air box to release them. This one latch on the front, one on the rear edge, and two on the side.

Install New Air Filter
If the old air filter is relatively clean, tap out the large debris and vacuum out any fine dust before re-installing it.

If the old filter is mostly dark grey or black and clogged with dirt, dust, insects, leaves, hair and other debris, it should be replaced with a brand new unit.

I recommend buying the Fram CA9401 engine air filter since it has great reviews on Amazon.

Insert the cleaner or new air filter in to the bottom half of the air box with the pleats facing down.

Line Up Tabs & Slots
Insert Tabs In To Slots
Fasten Metal Latches
Line up the slots on the inner edge of the top half of the air box with the tabs on the bottom half.

Close the air box and hold it down with one hand.

Flip up the four metal clasps and snap them in place on the top half of the air box.
