The 2nd Annual International Chocolate Festival was held at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden situated in the Coral Gables suburb of Miami Florida. The event took place on the weekend of January 26 and 27th from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Admission was $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, $10 for children 6-17 years of age, free for children under 5, and also free for Fairchild Members. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is located at 10901 Old Cutler Rd. Coral Gables, FL 33156. The staff can be reached by phone at 305-667-1651. Some of the fun features of the festival included the educational "ChocoWalk", the "ChocoKids" area, the relaxing "ChocoSpa", the "House of Chocolate", and free samples from a variety of local chocolate vendors.

During the chocolate festival we were also able to take a look at the Roy Lichtenstein sculptures that were on display at various locations within the Fairchild gardens. The Lichtenstein exhibit has been at the garden since December 8th 2007 and will they remain there until May 31st 2008. On Thursday evenings the Fairchild staff lights up the metal sculptures for their "Pop'N Tropical Nights" events. The small remaining collection of Dale Chihuly's blown glass art also gets the same lighting effect to create the "Garden of Glass" display.

If you wanted something else tasty to eat in between chocolate samplings there were a collection of food vendors such as CJ's Grill, Rossella's Frenesy, Poblano Mexican Enchiladas, M&L Carib Conch, Gaby's Tropical Ice Cream, Dutch Magic, Crepemaker and the Garden Cafe.

Inside the Fairchild Garden House there were cacao trees on display, some of the best chocolatiers in South Florida, author Susana Trilling with her book "Seasons of my Heart", Sher Ber's Chocolate Collection, author Victoria Laine with her book "Health By Chocolate", Les Dames De Chocolat and the Anecacao Ecudorean chocolate association.

	Whole Foods Market Tent	Cooking Demonstration
We went over to the Whole Foods Market Cooking Demonstration Pavilion just in time to see the chefs from the Talula Restaurant in Miami Beach, Andrea Curto-Randazzo & Frank Randazzo, prepare a delicious Bittersweet Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bread Pudding recipe for the crowd.

There was a long list of demonstrations happening through out the day including "Grown-Up S'mores with Rudy Straker from ROS Catering, "Cacao 101" with Maricel Presilla, "Health By Chocolate" with Victoria Laine, "Chocolate Truffles" with Edgar Leal from the Cacao Restaurant, "Chocolate Budin" with Susana Trilling, Chef Jennifer Gebis from Trina Restaurant, Chef John Gerbaut, "Chocolate Celebration" with Chef Rob from Sensational Chocolates, and "Chocolate Pizza" with Chef Paul & Chef Audrey from the Captain's Tavern.

While inside the Garden House we were able to snag a few samples from the chocolate vendors and chocolatiers. Some of the companies in attendance were the Sugar Shack, the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Patchi Le Chocolat, Oliver Kita Chocolates, the Chuao Chocolatier, Chocolove Premium Chocolate, Chocolate Sensation, Amazing Chocolate Cascades, the Chocolate Fashion Bakery and Romanicos Chocolates.
