This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the
first generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019) Ford
Flex crossover SUV in changing the rear wiper blade on the back windshield
window. Owners of other Ford or Lincoln vehicle such as the Explorer, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-Max, Mustang, Taurus, EcoSport, Escape, Edge, Expedition, Transit Connect, F-150, Ranger, MKZ, MKC, Navigator, MKX and Continental may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM rear wiper blade size in inches is 12" and the genuine Ford part number is Motorcraft WW-1201PF. A few other compatible replacement rear wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Anco AR-12E, ACDelco 8-212E, Bosch H300 and Valeo 12E. No tools are needed to remove and replace the wiper blade. |

Lift Wiper Arm |
Rotate Old Wiper Blade |
The first step is
to gently raise the rear window wiper arm off the back windshield. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle until you feel resistance. |
|
Pop Bar Out of Socket |
Pull Off Old Wiper Blade |
Continue rotating
the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until you feel the mounting bar
in the center of the blade pop out of the "C" shaped socket at the end of
the wiper arm. Pull the wiper blade off the end of the wiper arm. Do not allow the wiper arm to smack down on to the glass. |

Once the old wiper blade has been removed, you'll be able to see the small plastic mounting bar in the center of it. | |
Socket - Wiper Arm |
Line Up New Wiper Blade |
You'll also be able
to see the somewhat "C" shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm. I recommend buying the original OEM Ford rear wiper blade which is part number Motorcraft WW-1201PF. |

|
Rear Hole In Center |
Pass Arm Through Opening |
Line up the new
wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm.
The rubber blade should be pointing out away from the vehicle. The end of the wiper arm should be inserted into the rear opening behind the mounting bar. |
|
Push Bar Into Socket |
Rotate Blade Parallel |
Line up the
mounting bar and the socket. Carefully slide the mounting bar into the socket. Rotate the new wiper blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm. |
|
Lower Blade To Window |
Rear Wiper Blade Changed |
Double check that
the wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. For the best wiper performance, I highly recommend thoroughly cleaning off the window and applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. Be sure to record the blade change in your vehicle's service records. Please
