Gently Pry Out Lens Cover
This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the fifth generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) GM Chevrolet Camaro in changing a burnt out dome light bulb in the overhead console. (It may also be known as the "map light".)

Owners of other General Motors vehicles such as the Spark, Cruze, Malibu, Sonic, Impala, Traverse, Tahoe, Trax, SS, GMC Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Buick Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, Encore, Enclave and the Holden Barina may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement bulb is part number 2825 or 168 which are available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA and Eiko.

If you would like to have a brighter dome light, install a compatible 2825 LED or 168 LED bulb.

The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool used to pry out the translucent plastic lens cover.

To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the edge of the lens cover and the overhead console.

Gently pry out the lens cover.

You may need to re-insert the screwdriver in more than one place to pop out the lens cover.

Set the lens cover aside in a safe place.

If the old bulb was recently illuminated, be careful since it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers.

Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger before pulling it straight out of the socket.
