This automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and possibly the 2015 model year) GM Chevrolet Cruze in changing a burnt out side marker light bulb in the front bumper.

Owners of other General Motors vehicles such as the Spark, Sonic, Volt, Malibu, Camaro, Corvette, Impala, Equinox, Traverse, Suburban, Tahoe, Avalanche, Colorado, Silverado, Express, Cadillac ATS, XTS, CTS, SRX, Escalade, Buick Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, Encore, GMC Sierra, Terrain, Acadia, Yukon and Savana may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement front side marker light bulb is part number 194 from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, Eiko and PIAA.

You can also use a brighter LED unit.

The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool used to pry out the housing.

You may choose to wrap the tip of the screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth to prevent from scratching the surfaces.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the rear edge of the front side marker light bulb housing and the painted bumper.

Gently pry out the housing by pushing the screwdriver towards the front of the car to release the plastic clip. Do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the plastic clip.

Rotate the light grey bulb socket on the rear of the housing 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull it straight out.

Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 194 bulb.

If necessary, you may also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 168, 175, 2825, W5W or a compatible LED unit.

Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place.

Insert the front edge of the side marker in first and then gently pop in the clip on the rear side. Make sure that the side marker housing sits flush against the painted bumper surface.

Test the new front side marker bulb by turning on the headlights.
