This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Chevrolet Tahoe in changing a burnt out vanity mirror light bulb in the sun visors.

Owners of related General Motors vehicles with similar vanity mirror lights such as the Suburban, Avalanche, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Sierra, Cadillac Escalade and Hummer H2 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A few compatible replacement miniature "fuse" type bulbs include the following with their part numbers: ACDelco 13502343, Eiko 40842 - 6614F and 6614F or TS-14V1CP from various other manufacturers.

The only tool needed to replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the translucent lens cover.

Tabs Around Lens Cover
To help prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of the screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth.

Carefully insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the edge of the lens cover and the light housing.

Gently pry out the translucent plastic lens cover and set it aside in a safe place.

If the old bulb was recently illuminated, be careful since it may still be hot enough to burn your skin.

Either pull out the old bulb with your fingers or very gently pry it out at one of the metal end caps with the small flathead screwdriver.
