This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) GMC Acadia in changing the rear window wiper blade on the back windshield.

Owners of other General Motors SUV, hatchback, crossover or minivan vehicles such as the Terrain, Yukon, Denali, Encore, Enclave, Envision, SRX, Escalade, Spark, Sonic, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe and Suburban may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM rear window wiper blade size is 11 inches. (Some of the aftermarket replacement blades are 10".)

A few other compatible replacement 11" and 12" wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: GM 15276259, Trico 11-1, ACDelco 8-111, Trico 10-E, Trico 15-110, AutoTex R1-10, Trico 37-111 Winter, Valeo 50011 500 and Anco 31-12.

Please verify the correct replacement rear wiper blade part number for your vehicle. The part number may vary depending on the model year and/or trim level. This tutorial was created with a 2016 Acadia.

Early model years had a snap claw or pressure fit system that requires the old wiper blade to be firmly pushed off towards the window. If you have an early model year Acadia, check out my Chevrolet Tahoe Rear Wiper Blade Replacement Guide and also the Chevrolet Equinox Rear Wiper Blade Replacement Guide.

On the newer 2013+ post facelift Acadia models, the rear wiper blade's plastic bracket is attached to a metal hook at the end of the wiper arm.

Gently lift the wiper arm off the back window and locate the black plastic release tabs.

Push in the release tabs and then slide the old wiper blade to the left (driver) side to disengage it from the metal hook.
