How to change a burnt out high mount

| This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the eighth generation (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012)
Honda Accord sedan or coupe in changing a burnt out high mount third
brake light bulb. Owners of other Honda or Acura vehicles with similar door panels such as the Civic, CR-V, Fit, CR-Z, Insight, Crosstour, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, RLX, TL, TSX, ILX, ZDX, MDX and RDX may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement bulb is part number 7440. The bulb is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. No tools are needed to replace the 3rd brake light bulb. |

 Bulb Socket In Trunk |
 1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |

| The first step is
to open the trunk lid. Then reach in past the trunk light bulb and locate the third brake light bulb socket. Rotate the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

 Pull Out Old Bulb |

| Pull the old bulb
straight out of the socket.
If you have trouble removing the bulb, try gently wiggling it back and forth while pulling it. I'd recommend wearing gloves to protect your fingers from being cut just in case the old bulb breaks while you are pulling it out. |

| Push a new #
7440 bulb straight in to the socket. If you want a brighter third brake light, go with a 7440 LED bulb. |

 1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
 Test 3rd Brake Light Bulb |

| Re-insert the bulb
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Test the new third brake light bulb by having someone step on the brake pedal. For more,
