This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the second generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) Honda Pilot SUV in changing the rear windshield window wiper blade on the tailgate.

Owner's of other Honda or Acura SUV, minivan or hatchback vehicles such as the Odyssey, Insight, CR-V, Fit, CR-Z, Crosstour, MDX and RDX may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The rear wiper blade on this 2nd generation pilot is 14" (inches) or 356mm in length.

The OEM replacement rear wiper blade assembly from Honda is part # 76730-SZA-A02 (also known as "76730SZAA02").

No tools are needed to change the wiper blade.

The first step is to gently pull the black plastic cover off the base of the wiper arm.

Set the cap aside in a safe place.

Then pull the wiper arm up and away from the rear window until it is almost perpendicular to the vehicle and remains in that position by itself.

Rotate the old wiper blade away from the arm at an angle.

Continue rotating the blade away from the arm until the mounting bar in the center of the old wiper blade can be popped out of the "C" socket at the end of the wiper arm.

You may either replace the entire wiper assembly or your Honda dealer may have the cheaper rubber wiper refills.

I found it more time effective to just replace the entire wiper assembly rather than pull out the old rubber inserts and thread in the new ones.

The part number is Genuine Honda 76730-SZA-A02.

The OEM Honda wiper blade assembly can be purchased on eBay, Amazon or various other Honda parts websites.

Re-insert the plastic tab on the wiper blade in to the slot on the mounting bracket attached to the tailgate where the wiper arm rests when it is not in use.

Line up the black plastic cover and gently snap it in to place over the base of the wiper arm.

(If the wiper arm base cap has been broken or lost, the replacement Honda OEM part # is 76730-SZA-A02.)
