This
automotive maintenance "how-to" guide was specifically written to
assist owners of the 5th generation 2011, 2012 & 2013 Hyundai Elantra
(also known as the Avante or i35) in replacing the low beam, high
beam or front turn signal bulbs in the headlight assemblies. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Accent, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tucson, Santa Fe, Veracruz, Genesis, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sorento, Sportage, and Sedona may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement headlight bulbs for the '11-'13 Elantra include the following with their part numbers: Low Beam # H11B or H11, High Beam # H1 and Turn Signal # 2357A. No tools are needed to replace any of the headlight bulbs on either side of the vehicle. |

The first few steps
are to pop the hood, open the hood and move to the headlight assembly that
contains the burnt out bulb. The Low Beam bulb is located in the middle of the headlight assembly. Look behind the headlight assembly and locate the round black plastic dust cover that protects the low beam bulb. Rotate the dust cap 1/4 turn counter clockwise to remove it. Grasp the base of the low beam bulb and rotate it 1/4 turn counter clockwise to unlock it before pulling it straight out of the headlight assembly. (The removal procedure is the same for Elantra vehicles with H11 or H11B low beam bulbs. Please check your old bulb before purchasing new bulbs.) (To access the headlight bulb on the driver side of the vehicle, you may need to remove the entire headlight assembly. There are two 10mm bolts and one 12mm bolt that need to be removed. Two plastic clips on the bottom also hold it in place. Pull the headlight assembly straight out.) |
