Hyundai
Veloster Rear Wiper Blade Replacement Guide
How to change the rear wiper blade on the
back window of a 1st generation 2012 to 2017 Hyundai Veloster.
2017 Veloster Back Window |
Raise Rear Wiper Arm |
This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and
2017) Hyundai Veloster in changing the rear wiper blade on the back
windshield window. Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Santa Fe, Tucson, Accent, Ioniq, Genesis, Tiburon, ix20, i20, i30, i40, Veracruz, Optima, Cadenza, K900, Soul, Niro, Sportage, Sorento, Sedona, Rio, Forte and Spectra may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. I recommend buying the genuine OEM rear window wiper blade which is part number Hyundai 98850-2V000. A compatible replacement aftermarket wiper blade is the AutomotiveApple AMHM0857. No tools are needed to remove and change the rear wiper blade. |

Rotate Away Old Wiper |
Continue Rotating Blade |
The first step is
to lift the rear wiper arm off the back window until it remains in the
raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. Continue rotating the old wiper blade away until you can pop it off the wiper arm. You will hear or feel the "C" shaped socket in the middle of the old wiper blade pop off the mounting bar at the end of the wiper arm. |
|
Pop Off Old Wiper Blade |
"C" Shaped Socket |
Pull the old wiper
blade away from the wiper arm. Try to avoid letting the wiper arm smack down on to the glass to prevent it from being scratched or chipped. |

Mounting Bar - Wiper Arm |
Line Up New Wiper Blade |
I recommend buying
the genuine OEM
Hyundai 98850-2V000 rear
wiper blade. (The OEM wiper blade is also known as part number 98850 2V000 or 988502V000.) Line up the new wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm. |

|
Slide "C" Socket Over Bar |
Pop Wiper Blade On Arm |
Pull the "C" shaped socket at the middle of the new wiper blade on to the mounting bar at the end of the wiper arm. | |
Rotate Blade Parallel |
Lower Blade Arm To Glass |
Rotate the new wiper blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. |

Thoroughly Clean Window |
Gently lower the
wiper blade down to the rear window. For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the back window and applying a glass treatment product that will repel rain water such as Rain-X. Be sure to record the wiper blade change in your car's service records. For more,
