Headlight Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a low beam, high beam,
front turn signal or side marker light bulb in a 2011-2017 Jeep Compass.

This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the
refreshed, "revised" or post "facelift" first generation 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014, 2015, 2016 and early 2017 model year Jeep Compass SUV in changing a burnt
out low beam, high beam, front turn signal or side marker light bulb
in the headlight assemblies. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM vehicles such as the Avenger, 200, 300, Town & Country, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Patriot, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, 1500, 2500, 3500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement bulbs for the 2011-2015 model years with their part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11, High Beam # 9005, Front Turn Signal # 7444NA and side marker # 194. The part numbers for the earlier 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 Jeep Compass models are Dual Beam Headlight # H13 and Front Turn Signal # 3757A. No tools are required for replacing the headlight bulbs. A small flathead screwdriver may be useful for prying off the retaining clips on the power plugs. |

Pull Out Old Low Beam Bulb |

The Low Beam
bulb is located near the center of the headlight housing.
Reach in behind the assembly and gently pry back the two black plastic retaining clips on the electrical connector. You may need to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry back the clips. Pull the power plug straight down off the base of the old bulb. Rotate the base of the old low beam bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the socket. |

Push On Power Plug |
Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or to
anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol. Allow the bulb to dry before installing it. Insert the new # H11 bulb in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Push the power plug on to the base of the new bulb until you hear or feel the two retaining clips "click" securely in to place. |

The High Beam
is located near the inner edge of the headlight housing next to the turn
signal. Reach in behind the headlight assembly and gently pry back the black plastic retaining clip on the power plug. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Slide the
electrical connector straight off the base of the old high beam bulb. Rotate the base of the old bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before removing it from the housing. |

Insert New # 9005 Bulb |
Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or
anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with an alcohol moistened paper towel. Insert a new # 9005 high beam bulb in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

Orange Bulb Socket |
The Front Turn
Signal light bulb is located at the inner corner of the headlight
assembly. Rotate the orange turn signal socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Pull Out Old Bulb |
Push In New # 7444NA |
Pull the old turn
signal bulb straight out of the socket. Push a new amber colored # 7444NA bulb straight in to the socket. |

1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Side Marker - Outer Corner |
Side Marker Bulb Socket |
Insert the turn
signal socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure
it in place. The Front Side Marker bulb socket is located at the outer corner of the headlight housing. |

Pull Out Old # 194 Bulb |
Push In New # 194 Bulb |
Rotate the small
black plastic bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it
straight out of the housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 194 bulb. If necessary, you may also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 158, 168, W5W, 2825 or a compatible LED unit. |

Low Beam - High - Turn |
Re-insert the side
marker bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to
secure it in place. Test the new bulbs by turning on the headlights, activating the hazard signals and flashing the high beams. For more,
