This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 4th generation "WK2" (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016) Jeep Grand Cherokee in changing a burnt out fog light bulb in the front bumper.

Owners of other Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM SUV or minivan vehicles with similar fog light bulb housings such as the Town & Country, Patriot, Compass, Cherokee, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, and C/V Tradesman may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement fog light bulb is part number 2504 from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, PIAA, Eiko and Putco.

Other compatible bulbs include the # Philips 12276, PSX24W (12276C1) and the H16 Type 1 (5202).

No tools are required to access and replace the fog light bulbs.

Fog Light Bulb Housing
The first step is to move down to the wheel well located closest to the burnt out fog light bulb.

There is a small cut out section of the wheel well liner or "splash shield" that allows access to the rear of the fog light bulb housing.

If you have small hands, you may be able to just reach in and access the old bulb with no additional steps.

Most people will need to remove the single black plastic wheel well liner fastener located just slightly inward from the cut out section and in front of the tire.

Twist the fastener 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull it straight out of the plastic liner panel.

Gently pull back the wheel well liner to access the fog light bulb housing.

Press the release tab on the orange electrical connector and pull the plug straight out of its socket.

Pinch the two release buttons on the sides of the old bulb and pull it straight out of the housing.

(Do not pry out the sides of the bulb. Press the release tabs inwards towards each other.)

Insert a new # 2504 or PSX24W bulb in to the housing until it clicks securely in to place.

Push on the orange electrical connector until it clicks securely in place.

Test the new fog light bulbs by turning on the headlights and then activating the fog lights switch.
