This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) Jeep Patriot SUV in changing a burnt out fog light bulb in the front bumper cover.

Owners of other Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and RAM vehicles such as the Compass, Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, 500, Town & Country, 200, 300, Pacifica, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, RAM 1500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster Van may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The replacement fog light bulb part number is PSX24W or 2504 which are available from various manufacturers such as Philips, Eiko or Nokya.

If you would like to have brighter fog lights, install a compatible PSX24W LED bulb.

No tools are needed to access and replace the bulbs.

Slide under the front bumper and locate the back of the fog light bulb housing.

To release the old light bulb, you have to squeeze or pinch together the two plastic tabs.

There is one plastic release tab on either side of the base of the old bulb.

Pull the old bulb straight out of the housing.

Press the release button on the white plastic electrical connector before sliding the power plug straight off the base of the old light bulb.

Push the power plug on to the base of the new PSX24W or 2504 light bulb.

I recommend buying the Philips 12276 bulb since it has excellent reviews on Amazon.

You can also use a brighter LED unit.
