This

also the 2019 and 2020 model years) Jeep Renegade SUV in taking off
the plastic interior door panels in order to upgrade the OEM
speakers, add soundproofing material, fix a faulty electrical switch
or replace a broken power window motor. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat vehicles such as the 200, 300, Pacifica, Town & Country, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Fiat 500 500X or 500L, Fiat 124 Spider, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The tools needed to remove the door panel include a small flathead screwdriver, a plastic pry bar tool, a Phillips head screwdriver, a 5mm hex head socket or a 5mm Allen key wrench and a Torx T20 star bit screwdriver. To replace the OEM speaker or the power window motor, you'll need a Torx T25 screwdriver. |

The OEM door
speaker is located at the bottom inner corner of the door frame. To remove the OEM door speaker, loosen the four screws by turning them counterclockwise with a Torx T25 screwdriver. The OEM door speakers can be replaced with aftermarket speakers in the following sizes: 5 1/4" (5.25"), 6 1/2" (6.5") and 6"x9". I highly recommend applying some Dynamat Sound Deadener to the metal door frame around the speakers. It will help stop vibrations and rattles when you really crank up the volume. If you need to replace the power window motor, it is also held in place by Torx T25 screws. |
